SCIBS JAM-PACKED WITH ENTERTAINMENT IN 2013

We are set to celebrate our 25th anniversary with a fun-filled entertainment program throughout the four days of the… show.
A range of live entertainment and interactive displays will complement this year’s exhibitor showcase, with highlights for the whole family to enjoy.
We have lots of celebrity special guest appearances, music acts, kids’ entertainment and something for ladies visiting the show. SCIBS will be a great day out for the whole family.

Highlights include:
The popular Channel 7 Stage returns in 2013, hosting daily live music acts from various local and national artists including Brown Suga, Rhydian Lewis, Mark Divola, Casey Barnes (who will perform alongside his band KICK) and 2012 X-Factor top twelve finalist Carmelo Munzone will take to the stage on Saturday, May 25.
In keeping with Australia’s current obsession with all things culinary, The Channel 7 Stage will also host twice daily cooking demonstrations throughout the four day event. Creek to Coast presenters Sally Jenyns, Dean Miller and Scott Hillier will cook up a storm on the Thursday and Friday sessions, with special guests Jake and Elle Harrison, grand final runners up from the current season of Channel 7’s My Kitchen Rules leading the presentations on Saturday and Sunday.

The Kids Zone returns to SCIBS in 2013 where face painting, dodgem boats and a video game station will be sure to keep children occupied. Kids can also be dropped off at the interactive ‘2 Bent Rods’ workshop for some fully supervised, marine-themed fun.If you like your AFL you will love this year’s show. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet players from the Gold Coast Suns and learn a few tips from the boys.A swag of Queensland Water Police vessels will be on show, including the $3.75 million “Brett T Handran” 22 metre catamaran. The Water Police will also bring their Tactical Response Boat and 2 police jet skis which will be set up on a walk-around floating pontoon for kids to have their photos taken.Crowd favourite JetLev’s gravity-defying on-water jetpack display will make its thrilling return to this year’s SCIBS. Visitors will be treated to JetLev’s spectacular performance throughout the four-day event, which will see its driver shot nine metres into the air propelled by a powerful stream of water. If on-water fun is more your style, head to the stand-up paddle boarding demonstrations which are being held four-times daily preceding the JetLev display. But the thrills don’t end there! The kids will be treated to roving entertainment by Captain Jack Sparrow, while musicians Hot Jazz and Swing Kings will bring a funky carnival vibe to the streets of the Marine Village. Not to mention the boats! This year more than 300 exhibitors, products and technologies will be on display alongside the superb backdrop of the award-winning Sanctuary Cove marina and The Marine Village.
